Signs your batteries are wearing out

Batteries rarely die all at once. Most carts give you a few warnings first.

• Shorter rangeYou make it around the neighborhood once instead of twice.
• Slow on hillsThe cart bogs down where it used to pull.
• Longer chargesIt takes all night to charge, or never shows full.
• Corrosion or swellingWhite or green buildup on the terminals, or a swollen case.

Replace with lead-acid or upgrade to lithium

We test your pack and tell you what it needs. If you’re keeping lead-acid, we replace the pack and check the cables and charger while it’s in the shop.

Keep lead-acid batteries healthy

• Check the waterTop off with distilled water after charging, just above the plates.
• Charge after every rideLead-acid lasts longest when it’s never left drained.
• Keep terminals cleanA baking soda and water rinse clears corrosion.
• Store it chargedLeave it plugged in or charge it monthly when it sits.
